I’m Marion Tabi and I work in the Human resources department. I joined Société Générale in August 2007 and my role is as an HR advisor supporting the Global Equities and Derivatives business. What first attracted me to SG is the fact that it truly is an international organization, and during my time here I have seen my career develop, I’ve been given more responsibility, and I’ve been supported in this by my senior management. One of the things which positively surprised me about Société Générale was firstly the working culture. I found that people were genuinely willing to offer help and assistance on daily tasks. And secondly was Société Générale’s commitment to corporate responsibility. Over the past year for example, we’ve seen a number of really positive initiatives with regards to giving back to the local community and local projects; employees were able to volunteer their working time to contribute to these local projects, and in addition we’ve seen a number of green initiatives. What this means is that Société Générale, in its business operations is creating less harm to the environment. Another positive thing which I’ve seen during my career is that I’ve been able to forge positive relationships with my clients in the business, by assisting them in developing training for their employees and dealing with some complex employment relations issues. In that sense, where they’ve been successful we’ve been able to build on that client relationship, and with one of our business principles being “Our clients come first”, as an HR professional I have found in my time here I have been able to build on this.
