I think a lot of people at Société Générale feel the pride of working at Société Générale, it’s a company that’s performing well, it’s a company that works well, it’s a company that helps people evolve, it’s a company where, again, it’s the whole entrepreneurship that can be quite motivating for people, so, yes, there’s a lot of pride to say that you work at Société Générale. I work in the communications department in Paris.
There’s twenty some odd people, from many different walks of life, different educational backgrounds, different points of interest, men, women, French, lots of non-French as well, so you discover people from all different walks of life – that’s super motivating, and when you’re recruited in one particular branch you actually discover that when you’re working in that branch, that you’re going to interact with other branches, and you discover more and more jobs, more and more different types of products that are sold, people that come from different walks of life, you discover a bank that’s incredibly international.
You don’t realise when you’re recruited at Fimat Futures in New York that ten years later you’ll be working in Paris, France, it’s something that has to come from the person, it has to be you who are motivated, you’re interested, you’re curious, you want to perform as well, and I think that when you manager sees that you are motivated like that, your manager’s going to be behind you, your manager’s going to help you evolve, your manager’s going to help you learn new things that will help you do your job better.
