It’s one of the most important things for me about Soc Gen, is that since I began at the bank Soc Gen has always allowed me to follow the different interests that I had and to change my career whenever I saw opportunity, and one of the things that they were more than welcoming of is that any idea coming from anyone, young or old, that thinks they have something new to offer the organisation, and those ideas we will pursue and we will allow people to pursue on their own. It’s an area of opportunity and growth. It’s true that we are a big global bank and that’s one of our strengths and that’s one of the reasons that I think we all work for Société Générale. At the same time we work within small departments and small teams, we have little families within the group. What I enjoy in my job is that every day I come in having no idea what my job is going to be on that given day. There’s constant change, constant evolution, constant challenges to overcome. Overcoming those challenges is the pleasure that we get from every day. I also get great pleasure from the people I work with, from the family that I have been working with for thirteen years, and watching us as a group find solutions to opportunities or challenges that arrive on a daily basis in our careers. I’ve seen the bank evolve and change enormously since 1993, when we were a French bank that was expanding into international markets. Since then, we’re perceived as a global bank, we’re perceived as number one in several different businesses particularly the business I’m involved in which is equity derivatives, and when I go to Tokyo when I go to Brazil when I go to New York and I have a business card which means something in front of people that hadn’t heard of our bank 15 years before, I’m very proud that I belong to the bank and that my group and my team were what made that happen. I love my job, and I’ve been in it for a year and a half to two years, so my guess is I have another year and a half to two years before I evolve, but I look forward to seeing what the next step is in the career at Soc Gen.
